Sound familiar?

This is what ADHD parenting actually looks like.

7:42 AM
“My socks feel wrong.”

You’ve been getting ready for twenty minutes. The bus leaves in eight. Three pairs of socks are on the floor. Nothing is wrong with any of them - but everything is wrong with all of them.

4:15 PM
“You hate me.”

You asked them to pause the game to start homework. They heard rejection. Now they’re sobbing, telling you they’re the worst kid in the world - and the homework hasn’t been opened yet.

9:38 PM
“Five more minutes.”

It’s already two hours past bedtime. They’re not being defiant. Their brain genuinely won’t switch off, and tomorrow you’ll watch the consequences play out in real time at school.

You’re not failing as a parent. You just haven’t had tools built for the brain you’re actually raising.

Tarryn Poulton - Paediatric OT and ADHD mom
01 - Meet Tarryn

I’m a paediatric OT. I’m also raising an ADHD child.

For over a decade I’ve worked clinically with ADHD children - helping families understand the brain behind the behaviour, and giving them tools that actually fit how their child is wired.

Then I became a mom. And one of my own kids has ADHD. Suddenly everything I knew as a therapist met the reality of doing it at home, with my own child, after a long day, when I was tired and so was he.

My husband Tim and I have been figuring this out together for years - what the textbooks get right, what they miss, and what no one tells you about raising a child whose brain works differently. Nurture ADHD is the resource I wish I’d had on the hardest nights.

“I built what I couldn’t find when I needed it most - clinical expertise grounded in real parenting moments.”
